Born and raised in Abbotsford, Jasmit has spent his life serving the community he calls home. His story is grounded in hard work, family and showing up when it matters.
Jasmit Singh Phulka is a lifelong Abbotsford resident who believes in steady leadership rooted in community values. Raised in a family that taught him the importance of service, he's spent years coaching youth, volunteering in local programs and supporting families across the city.
Through his work in the community, Jasmit has seen firsthand what Abbotsford families need: safe neighbourhoods, reliable infrastructure and leaders who show up, listen and act.
He's running for City Council to bring a grounded, practical perspective to City Hall and to help build momentum toward a future where every resident feels supported and heard.

Jasmit has four core priorities that will help shape a strong, healthy Abbotsford: keep our neighbourhoods safe, planning thoughtfully for future growth, managing tax dollars responsibly and building trust through open communication.

Creating a Safer Abbotsford for everyone
Every family deserves streets that feel safe, parks that feel welcoming, and neighbourhoods where people know and trust one another.
Jasmit will support practical investments that strengthen community safety and keep Abbotsford connected. From recreation to mentorship, strong communities invest in their young people.
Jasmit has spent years coaching and supporting youth and he'll bring that same commitment to City Hall.

Planning for the Abbotsford of tomorrow
Abbotsford is growing and we need thoughtful planning that respects neighbourhood character while preparing for the future.
Jasmit will champion infrastructure that keeps pace with demand and supports local businesses. Jasmit will also work to strengthen local jobs, support entrepreneurs and keep our economy resilient.

Respecting tax dollars by focusing on the basics
Local governments work best when they stay focused on the essentials.
Jasmit believes Council's job is prioritizing core services like maintaining roads, keeping parks in good condition and responding quickly to everyday community needs.
When municipalities concentrate on these fundamentals, they strengthen trust, improve quality of life and create a solid foundation for long-term planning.

Good leadership starts with listening. Jasmit will prioritize open communication, clear decision-making and a council that stays connected to residents.
When decisions are clear and information is easy to find, residents feel included instead of left in the dark.
