Jasmit Singh Phulka believes it is instrumental to utilise his wrestling platform to make a difference. For him, it’s not about having a platform, but rather, what you do with it that counts.
Through his wrestling journey, he has been able to harness his platform to bring community together. This fundamentally includes year-round, local volunteerism to recognise and aid different parts of our community.

Giving Back With Coaching
July 30th, 2025
This past year, I’ve been back at the wrestling club I grew up in — this time as a volunteer coach. Coaching, mentoring, and spending real time with the next generation has been one of the most meaningful experiences of my life.
Watching these kids show up and put in the work reminds me why this sport means so much. I’ve learned just as much from them as they’ve learned from me. -

“I'm currently a part of the Abbotsford Police Connection Circle and the Chief of Police reached out to us via email yesterday giving a brief update and reminding us about how important strength in community is. At that moment it clicked in my mind that this was my calling and I wanted to be involved in any capacity. I visited the Tradex where all the evacuees are staying currently and there stories of being air lifted by helicopters or rescued on boats from their flooding homes is heart wrenching.“

I hope they are enjoyed the same way my grandmother did.”
